Hello CoCANN Members! Hope we will see many of you at the NANN National Conference in Palm Springs in October. We will have a CoCANN booth this year at the conference to recruit new members and spread the word about our new scholarship program! We would like to have a poster at our booth with photos of our members. If you have a picture or two you are willing to share, please send to patriciarhoades@gmail.com. And let us know if you have any spare time at
the conference to assist in the booth. Thanks and see you in October !!

Patricia Rhoades BSN, RNC-NIC
I have been a nurse for 33 years this month, and first started in the NICU nurse 29 years ago. I worked for 11 years at St. Mary Medical Center in the NICU, then took a brief time away from the NICU to work in the CTICU at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. I returned to St. Mary’s after that for another five years where I was a supervisor in the NICU, then became the director of Children’s Services (NICU, PICU and Peds). I left St. Mary’s in 2005 to go to Fountain Valley Regional for 1 year until 2006. After my one year there, I came to Miller Children and Women’s Hospital in summer of 2006. My current position is Parent Education Coordinator in the NICU.
Anne grew up on Long Island on the east coast, graduated with a BSN from Cornell School of Nursing in 1976, and started working in the NICU at Cornell-New York Hospital in NYC. After hearing about how wonderful Los Angeles was from her husband Tony, she moved to LA sight unseen on their first anniversary in 1977. She worked at Cedars Sinai in the NICU for under a year, transferred to the NICU at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in November, 1977 and has been there ever since.
In her almost 38 years in the NICCU at CHLA, she has worked in the clinical arena and earned her Clin IV designation. She was part of the ECMO team, and is also a PALS and NRP instructor. She is very involved with clinical documentation and the electronic medical record. She is presently the co-chair of the hospital wide Clinical Practice Council and is a Lead RN in the NICCU.
Anne has been a member of CoCANN since 2008. She is the daughter of a CPA, which should help to qualify her for the job of Treasurer.
